Or you can ask for directions.

I found this map on a triathlon web page.
I won't tell you which triathlon it's from; I just found it interesting that they felt a need to provide a map of the swim, especially since this is a seeded swim start.
Just in case you get lost in the pool, or something.

  2. I really hate to say it, but I think the map could be useful to some.

There are those who *just don't get* where they're supposed to turn when circle swimming. (Not that I'd point fingers or name names or anything.)

Ideally, it doesn't happen in a tri, though ...

  3. No, Wendy is right of course.

    Help the newbies out. Absolutely.

That assumes that they would actually look at the thing and try to figure it out instead of just guessing.

Man, I sound way too cynical...

  4. You know darn well it's provided for a reason.

Any bets that two folks will still bonk heads? ;)

most excellent. BTW do they give the guy who needs this map his own sign too?
"Here's your map, and here's your sign"...

  9. Well, I'm already confused by the race directors. The instructions clearly state that participants will circle swim in each lane. Yet the map CLEARLY shows a triangle pattern.

One has to wonder if they will have marker bouys, too?

Yeah, we could go on with this one, all day.

  10. I know at least one Outlaw that needs this map! Not to mention any names but he was DQ'ed last year when he didn't realized it was a down and back swim.
