In which being a blabbermouth has its benefits.

Pretty soon, I'll be doing a bra review.

I'll be reviewing this one -->
It is the Lila C/D in "Ocean".

I <3 Moving Comfort. As the plus-sized endurance athlete, I have to say that everything I've ever bought from them has been very comfortable. Their compression running shorts are the bomb.

A pullover-type bra can be cumbersome if you change it in transition, because you're all wet and/or sweaty, and it rolls up, but I don't change it. Since pullover types feel better to me, I aim for one I can wear all day: swim, bike, run or crazy 10-hour trail ultra. They are, paradoxically, cheaper than a tri top in a lot of venues.

I need something that is heavy-duty since I am now apparently carb-loading with my new favorite carb-loading food,

Pasta. In a bread bowl.

I had decided that I wanted to make a goal of doing Ironman Utah in a 2-piece set without embarassing myself. But then, I thought, screw. it. If someone doesn't like the way I look, then look away. Buffalo Springs Lake 70.3 and the Redman full iron-distance will be H-O-T. Being cool and comfortable trumps "slimming" every time.
Soooooo, I had picked a pretty bra that could be worn as a top, with a racer back and that looked like the front cleavage would hold a handfull of ice.

I was a day or two away from hitting the PAY button last week when...

Moving comfort sent me an email asking me would you like to have one of our bras and write a review about it?

I was like, really? Hmm. um...uh...well...let's see...HELL YES, I'LL TAKE YOUR FREE STUFF!

(especially since I was getting ready to buy one anyway)

Stay tuned for more on this topic.

  2. Ooh, I just posted a list of my favorite tri things and stores and gear. One thing I DO NOT have is a bra recommendation. I ordered a bra from Athleta that I'm hoping will meet all of my big boob needs. Um, hello, Moving Comfort? Are you reading? ;)

Can't wait to hear what you think!!

  3. Yes - curiously I have been contemplating the purchase of that EXACT BRA, so I will very much look forward to hearing what you think!

My current two best picks: first, the Tyr workout bikini top, which really is good enough to work as a bra on a long run

And the CW-X extra support bra (I think this brand is very good - I have another one that is quite good also, pullover with no back clasp):

  4. I do not have boob issues because, well, I don't have boobs. However, I heart Moving Comfort bras the most of anyone's.

  5. Can't wait to hear the review. And stop mentioning that damn pasta in a bread bowl. I'm like pavlov's dog, drooling every time you do!

  6. I'm definitely looking forward to your review - I've almost bought the Lila C/D several times, but never felt 100% on purchasing a bra without trying it on. I totally agree with the pull over statement as well, so please let us know how it works throughout swim, bike, run, and post-race party!

Good luck at your upcoming events!

  7. That looks gorgeous. How does it stack up against the Enell for motion control?

  8. I have Moving Comfort jog bras that are 11 years old. No joke! They're, ah, how do you say..."ripe" but still in my rotation. They're just perfect.

Scurrying off to buy compression shorts right this second.

Sweet! I'm glad you get to test stuff out and let us know! Yay you!

    Love the bra color.

  9. Oooh! Pretty! I am blessed with being able to buy any old sports bra. Really I am so small a tight t-shirt would do, but that is a snazzy looking sports bra. I hope it is comfy and chafe free as well.

BTW, I have seen pictures of you in shorts and a jog bra and you look FAB! So no worries!

Oh and to the moving comfort rep, I just bought running shorts because of this pre-review so good show choosing a REAL woman to review athletic wear!

  10. Would love to see the review of their compression shorts! What is it that you like so much about them?

  11. ITA on the shorts! I discovered them last year and decided I will never buy any other brand. I'm looking forward to the bra review - if it's as good as the shorts MC will get all my business!

  12. I LOVE moving comfort...they make by far the best bras ever...they are my top choice no matter if I'm racing or training. And they have awesome customer service...although I guess I should pout a little that they have never offered me the opportunity to write a review!! Wear what you are comfortable with to race in...if there are people critiquing you about your choice of athletic wear obviously they aren't racing hard enough!! :)
