So, I've got this thing in my left ankle that I felt the first stirrings of when I was running downhill from the La Luz trailhead. Then ...

I can't wait to follow the journey. I was so tempted to register myself - it looks like a fantastic course.
ReplyDeleteYee Haaah! Go triple Iron GG!
ReplyDeleteAre ya gonna do it? We would love to cheer you on.
ReplyDeleteI'm in!
ReplyDeleteAre you doing B2B too?
I don't think so - we were keenly interested in it and will do it again at some point but for 2009 we need to stick closer to home and be con$ervative with the fund$.
ReplyDeleteThat is so awesome! Your thyroid will be all ironed out by then and training will rock Misty..
ReplyDeleteHi.
ReplyDeleteLurker here. 1st post. Had the same reaction about St George. (for my 1st iron distance). No ocean swim, beautiful scenery, close enough to home to not ship bikes. Then I read (on slowtwitch) "The bike course is "on a par with Coeur d'Alene," in difficulty, according to Huddle, "not quite as difficult as Placid or Wisconsin." But the run is another story. While it is all on-road, Huddle says it, "is definitely the hardest of any [Ironman] North American run course."
Ummmm. Maybe not for me.
Love your blog. Keeps me inspired to keep going. Looks like Florida 2010 might be for me if I can figure out my way around the jellyfish.

Start designing the new tattoo now. Other shoulder perhaps?
ReplyDeleteI'm considering altering the one I have now. I'm tired of people asking me if I'm a Broncos fan.
ReplyDeleteooh how exciting! i wish i had your nerves! i'm still too scared of tri's!
ReplyDeleteI signed up yesterday. I'm in the process of making up a list as to why:
ReplyDelete1. It seemed like a good idea at the time.
2. I've always wanted to see Utah in May.
3. I need something to be terrified of. For a whole year.
4. I want to lose 5 pounds. So what, if there are easier ways?!
5. To take full advantage of the $35 I spent on my USAT membership.
6. I'm not getting any younger.
7. I needed a little more stress in my life.
8. The course elevation and profile maps weren't posted yet, adding to the element of surprise.
9. These things often fill up within hours, so I had to decide quickly.
10. Really, I'm not sure why I signed up. I just want to do it (I think).
This will be my first IM. Good luck--maybe I'll see you there!
Michelle, I mapped out the elevations on "mapmyride.com" - email me if you want the link.
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome news! I can't wait to hear what it's like. We're driving to IM Idaho this June for my husband's race. So many beautiful places to race in!
