Just what I need.

It was a nice morning for a run, about 50 degrees, my favorite.

Quiet, and black as pitch.

I turned on the iPod to my favorite run mix, and started out, getting my heartrate up and myself warmed, hitting the go button on the Garmin as I headed out.

I'm not fast, but it doesn't matter.

There's no offspring out here asking me for money or a ride or just being ornery.

There's no papers out here to grade. Or to write.

There's no students asking "why do we have to learn this - my mom says it's stupid and I'll never need it. "

Yes.

This is what I've needed.

This.

OMG. Nice to know the parents have got your back. Not.

I'm glad you had a good run. You certainly deserve it!

  3. I wish I had the opportunity to get outside this morning to run. Instead, I had to settle with three miles on the dreadmill at the fitness center at work.

  5. I can't really think of a better run or a nicer way to start your day. :)

BTW, I sat on my friend's bike today (the extent of my riding) and she has a Specialized Jett saddle.

Apparently they make them in 3 sizes for women, depending on what best fits. Just in case you're still searching for the perfect seat. :)

  6. Do they come in "lardass?" Seriously, though, I have tried one. It wasn't quite enough cushy for the ole' tushy. Thanks, though!

  8. Sounds like a great run!! I love putting on my IPOD and ecscaping into my own little world. What was the perfect music for this fine morning run?

    Keep up the great work!!

  9. Sorry to hear about your DNF...I thought about all you SOMA racers as I read USA today at the hotel claiming Phoenix as the nation's "HOT SPOT" last weekend...yikes!
Good to hear that you had a nice mind-clearing run before work. That's what it's all about!
    Keep it up!
(Have you ever considered teaching Spec. Ed? Different kind of paperwork...but the kids usually never give you "lip" about why you are asking them to complete a task! I think you'd be good at it!)

  10. How is your paper going? (speaking from a 'bastard thesis that's eating my life' perspective myself)

Glad you had a nice run!

I ran for the first time today since my marathon, and it felt really good, too. Those "no pressure" kind of runs are the best :)
